Tommy Milner

BOARD MEMBER

Tommy Millner is the former CEO of Cabela’s and Remington Arms.

His career spans three distinct industries: furniture manufacturing at Pilliod Cabinet Company, firearms manufacturing at Remington Arms, and specialty retail at Cabela’s. Each experience represents a different business challenge, including a classic turnaround, a corporate divestiture, and a post-IPO public company facing significant headwinds. In every case, meaningful value was created for shareholders, most notably at Cabela’s, where the sale of the company generated a tenfold return over seven years.

Tommy is also a seasoned board member. He served as a Director of Best Buy and Chair of its Audit Committee, and as a Director of Bushnell, LazyDays RV, Stanley Furniture, Cabela’s, Remington, and Menards. He currently serves as a Director of privately held Total Wine and More and Trulieve (CSE: TCNNF), where he is Audit Chair. Tommy is also a Director of the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals and recently stepped down after ten years of service as a Director of Camp Southern Ground.

He is a 1976 graduate of Randolph-Macon College, where he was admitted to Phi Beta Kappa.

Tommy grew up in Hampton Roads, Virginia, and comes from a military family. His father served in the Philippines and helped liberate survivors of the Bataan Death March, later continuing his service as an active-duty Reservist. His uncle landed in a glider on D-Day, and another uncle flew 35 B-24 missions as a Bombardier. His first cousin, whom Tommy considers his hero, was killed in Vietnam in 1967. These experiences, combined with his professional work in firearms and ammunition supporting the U.S. Military, shaped a lifelong commitment to those who serve our nation.

“Serving the mission of Big Sky Bravery is an unparalleled honor.”

I've worked in marketing and design for 18+ years, and even met my wife (also a graphic designer) while working at an ad agency. She is my balance. We now have two young children and are finally learning the value of sleep.
