  • Lone Mountain Ranch

  • Canyon Adventures

From L.S. (Age 12)

“I want to thank you for everything you did for us. We were able to see a lot of really cool things and explore an area we otherwise wouldn't have. My favorite day of the trip was being able to ride in the side-by-sides with my dad, I didn’t know he could drive like that! It was also funny watching my mom and sister drive into a giant puddle and hear them scream with laughter!

There was a lot of scenery and the views in Big Sky are insane. I was able to take so many pictures and will cherish the memories forever. Thank you again for allowing us to have such an incredible time, we were able to spend so much quality time together as a family, play games, talk, and even go out on a boat. Thank you for everything you do!”

From H.S. (Age 15)

“Dear Big Sky Bravery, obviously, my words can’t express how much gratitude I have for all of you and the program. It was truly magical getting to experience an area so much different than home. It was calming, the scenery was gorgeous, adventurous, and overall, exciting! I couldn’t believe how many activities we were able to do that week during our stay, let alone having a full day of relaxation and enjoying each other’s company.

Montana had so much to offer. I personally really enjoyed the food and the restaurants there, as well as everyone else. I was surprised with how nice the people are there, and it’s amazing how you all can get families together and out there that are allowed to experience that.

I love how this group recognizes military families and children as much as they need to be. I feel Big Sky Bravery does an amazing job in making an impact on military families lives and allowing them to relax and decompress. Getting to do things in Montana, where the pace feels just a bit slower, that we couldn’t do at home while a parent is constantly deployed was a blessing.

Overall, I just want to say thank you so much Big Sky Bravery, for making this summer so special for my family and I. You are all a great and kind organization of people that truly care about what you do and the impact it makes. We appreciate everything you’ve done for not just my family but all the other special operations families and service members you’ve served throughout the years.”

From R.S.

“I want to extend my deepest gratitude to Big Sky Bravery and its incredible supporters for making this unforgettable getaway possible.

The opportunity to step away from the demands of daily life, where giving my all is often done quietly and without any expectation of recognition, was profoundly moving.

Being my second time in Big Sky, Montana, (first as an individual recipient of Big Sky Bravery), I was able to step back and take stock of one of the last wild and wonderful gems in America.

This task force gave my family and I a rare and forever cherished chance to simply be together, free from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind. From riding side-by-sides to the top of a majestic mountain ridge, drifting down the Madison River with fly rod in hand, to a date night under the breathtaking Montana sky and an evening at the rodeo. Every moment reinforced that it is ok to slow down, listen to loved ones and friends, take in the world, and let my guard down a little to breathe.

It’s still very difficult to express in a tangible way how reformative feeling appreciated, cared for, and seen can be.

I’ve never asked for anything I wasn’t willing to fight for and earn myself, so it is both humbling and deeply moving to set that instinct aside and allow myself to receive this level of gratitude. Not only for me, but my family as well, and knowing it is only possible due to the efforts of those we’ve served with, for, and who have held the home front together during the longest conflict in American history.

Sharing laughter, tranquility, and joy with those closest to me in such a stunning setting reminded me why every personal sacrifice had been worth it. This experience was not just a pause, but a chance to heal, infused with peace, reconciliation, and a deep sense of belonging.

Thank you for believing in the power of restoration and for helping to bring it into our community filling a void that has existed well beyond our time.

Your kindness and commitment ripple further than you may ever know, and I carry this time with me now as a source of strength, grace, and immense gratitude.

My family and I see Big Sky Bravery not only as a godsend, but as true friends and unwavering support. Always present, always willing to check in, and always ready to listen.

Thank you all so much, we will forever be grateful.”

From M.S.

“Big Sky Bravery has truly changed our lives in the best way.

Being part of the SOF community can often feel isolating, overwhelming, and tough for families, but having the support of BSB reminds us that we are not alone.

Their care and dedication help us feel seen, supported, and valued. This recent trip gave our kids the chance to reconnect, laugh, and make lasting memories while reflecting on the sacrifices made over the years. For that, we are deeply grateful, and thank you for all that you do, for us, and so many others.”
