“It’s hard to count the days, let alone the hours, that my husband and I truly get to spend together—uninterrupted, without stress, and free from responsibility. You try not to complain too much, because everyone’s doing their best with what they have, but goodness,
nothing compares to stepping away from it all and remembering why you said ‘yes’ in the first place.
This trip gave us that gift. It gave us space to laugh until our stomachs hurt, to finally have the hard face-to-face talks we’d been putting off, and to build deeper bonds with friends we rarely get time to enjoy. From swatting horseflies off each other during trail walks to grabbing one another’s life jackets so no one slipped out of the raft, we were reminded just how strong of a team we are.
Big Sky Bravery doesn’t just create an escape—it gives us the boost we need to keep showing up for each other, to keep fighting for our team.
And that is a gift I’ll carry long after the trip is over.
