Family Task Force 38
A Note From the Wife.
After years of sacrifice shaped by military life - not just deployments, but endless training cycles, sudden taskings, and time away that kept our family in a constant state of adjustment - our family has never been able to truly reset. Even when Quint had time off, the weight of service followed him home. As a blended family, those pressures were felt even more deeply as the kids navigated separation, distance, and the long-term effects of a lifestyle that demanded flexibility from everyone. The greatest tolls were paid by the kids, and they didn't ask for that.
This experience was more profound for our family than I even realized it would be. We really needed this. Big Sky Bravery removed every external pressure. The planning, finances, and logistics were completely handled, giving us the rare opportunity to simply show up and be present. Nothing pulled us in opposite directions, and we were able to be together and truly relax. We played games, laughed til we cried, sat in quiet moments, and were able to relax without guilt, urgency, or obligations. We experienced things we never could've afforced - ski lessons, fancy dinners, free childcare, exceptional excursions. Financial stress was removed entirely and allowed us to fully disconnect and enjoy each other.
For the first time, we saw our family truly come together - not rushed, not stressed, but simply enjoying each other. We witnessed the kids connect across age gaps and distance. I got to see our youngest daughter develop bonds with her sisters, and make memories that we'll talk about forever. We watched the oldest (almost 20) who has been grinding away back home trying to find her way in life - she truly relaxed. She drove a dog sled team, and was so incredibly proud of herself. We were proud of her. We watched the girls bond over learning snowboarding. We watched our youngest thrive on the mountain with an instructor at 2 years old, an experience we wouldn't have had without BSB's support. We all discovered a shared sense of adventure that I'd never seen before. It was incredible.
This was more than a vacation for us. It was rest and reconnection. And I didn't even realize how much we really needed it. We are so profoundly grateful for the generosity of those who made this experience for our family possible.
Thank you.
A Note From the Husband.
This was the best family vacation I’ve had for as long as I can remember. It’s incredibly difficult to get all of my kids in one place at one time, but thanks to Big Sky Bravery, we were able to do that. This vacation was incredible and I am so grateful for all the memories, individual connection with my wife and daughters, and the time spent with them. This entire experience wouldn't have happened without the hard work and commitment of the Big Sky Bravery team and their donors. All of our activities were set for us and all we had to do was show up, have fun, and enjoy our time with one another. I can't say enough about how great of a time we had, the memories we made, and the incredible dedication of the entire Big Sky Bravery team. From my family, thank you so very much. You set the stage and coordinated all the events for our family to grow stronger bonds and have a blast while doing it. Thank you so very much for everything.
