Family Task Force 42 | Big Sky, MT

As we settle back into our everyday life, our hearts are still full as we reflect on the incredible week our family spent in Montana.

It’s hard to fully express how grateful we are for the opportunity our family was given this week. Thanks to the generosity and kindness of so many, our family was able to step away from our everyday routines and spend much-needed and meaningful time together. We have been on vacations before, but this one was different. This time our goal was to slow down and connect with one another, which is exactly what we were able to achieve.

Throughout the week, we hiked beautiful trails, explored Yellowstone, rode horses, went white-water rafting down the Gallatin River (an unforgettable family favorite), took an amazing morning hot air balloon ride, and enjoyed many other simple yet meaningful moments together. We even had a chance to try several new adventures together for the first time. While each activity was special and well planned out, what meant the most was the opportunity to slow down, smile, and embrace being together as a family.

As a military family for over 24 years, we are no strangers to the demands and sacrifices that come with this way of life. It was especially moving and emotional for us to be on the receiving end of such extraordinary generosity. Knowing that others care enough to donate their time, money, and services to create this experience for military families is both humbling and deeply meaningful. We left Montana feeling appreciated and beyond blessed.

To everyone who played a part in making this unforgettable week possible, thank you.

With grateful hearts,

-Family Task Force 42 Recipients
