Josh McCain
Founder, Chief Executive Officer, & Board Member
Josh McCain is the Founder of Big Sky Bravery, a nationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to serving active-duty Special Operations Forces (SOF), their spouses, and their families. A native of Montana, Josh graduated from Three Forks High School in 2004 and later attended Georgia Southern University, where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
He founded Big Sky Bravery in 2015 while working in New York City, after witnessing firsthand the challenges his brother-in-law, Jeremy Keller, faced following 18 deployments in support of our nation. Determined to help, Josh reached out to numerous nonprofit organizations, only to be told that support would not be available until Jeremy had retired from service. That moment exposed a critical gap in care for those still actively serving, and ultimately became the catalyst for Big Sky Bravery.
Josh made the decision to leave his career in NYC and build an organization focused on providing immediate, meaningful support to those currently in the fight. Since its inception, Big Sky Bravery has served more than 1,300 Special Operations service members, along with their spouses and families, and has raised over $60 million to advance its mission.
Today, Josh is leading the organization into its next chapter with the launch of a $35 million capital campaign: the Big Sky Bravery Ranch. This initiative will establish a permanent home for the SOF community, a place designed to provide restoration, connection, and long-term support for generations to come.
In addition to his nonprofit work, Josh is the Founder of Salient Point Consulting Group, where he focuses on delivering specialized consulting solutions tailored to American SOF units across a variety of training environments. He is also an active investor in multi-use real estate and a serial entrepreneur at heart, continually building and supporting ventures aligned with impact, performance, and long-term value.
Under his leadership, Big Sky Bravery’s work has been featured on national news outlets and is widely recognized as one of the premier programs serving active-duty service members in the United States.
Josh is a proud husband to Kristi and a proud father to their son and daughter. When he’s not with his family or working, you can find him backcountry snowmobiling in the winter, on the golf course - playing a game he has loved since he was three years old - or in the fall cheering on his beloved Georgia Bulldogs.
