Blake Dobson

VOLUNTEER MANAGER

blake@bigskybravery.org

Blake has been a Big Sky Bravery volunteer since 2016 when he helped make Task Force 2 a success. He considers meeting Josh McCain and Shawn Hertz back in the “early days” as one of the most serendipitous moments of his life.

Originally from Birmingham, Michigan, Blake has called the Gallatin Valley home for the past 13 years. During his formative years, he spent a large majority of his time playing sports, fishing, hunting, skiing, exploring the woods, and camping with family and friends. Always in search of the next adventure, Blake headed out west after graduation from Michigan State to pursue a life in the mountains.

The next decade of his life would be spent as a cowboy and horse trainer, working on ranches all over the American West. This taught him countless lessons and, above all else, instilled a strong work ethic and a sense of pride in all he did. Upon arrival in Montana, Blake hung up his spurs and started a construction business which he operated for over 10 years.

When the opportunity arose for a full-time position at BSB, he jumped at the chance to hang up his hammer and once again make a career out of a deep passion. As this next chapter of his life unfolds on the BSB team, he is excited for the road ahead and the impact he hopes to make on countless more individuals and their families who walk through our doors.

Outside of the office, Blake loves to spend time with his amazing wife, Abby, and their two dogs, Colt and Josie, while soaking up all this great state has to offer.

“Being a part of this community has left a deep impression on my soul and encompasses some of my most cherished memories on this earth. Contributing to the lives of men and women who have sacrificed so much for this country has been fulfilling beyond words, and I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to do so.”
