A note from the Task Force Director

What an incredible week it was - filled with laughter, deep conversations, and new experiences. It was truly an honor to support women who so selflessly pour into their husbands and loved ones. Treating them to a full Montana immersion was nothing short of unforgettable. From first-time adventures to relaxing spa treatments, and cheering our hearts out at a patriotic rodeo (where “Section A” was without question the loudest and proudest!) Every moment was pure joy to share.

Even before arriving, excitement was building. In the days leading up to our program, the group text was full of energy. Connections were already forming, and by the time the ladies met in person, friendships were well underway.

Our first meal together set the tone for the week - lunch with our feet in the cool waters of the Madison River during a fly-fishing trip. From there, the adventures kept rolling: exploring mountain trails on side-by-sides, horseback rides through breathtaking terrain, and ziplining like seasoned pros. These ladies dove into every experience with courage and enthusiasm, never holding back.

And while the adventures were unforgettable, the quiet moments were just as meaningful. From morning coffee in the kitchen to evenings gathered around a crackling fire, conversations flowed with honesty and depth. Stories of triumphs, dreams, struggles, and hope were shared - each voice heard with respect and care.

None of this would have been possible without the generosity of donors whose support brought this experience to life. Your unwavering patriotism and belief in our mission is always greatly appreciated.

To the incredible team of volunteers - thank you for pouring your hearts into every detail. Your genuine love and care shone brightly throughout the week.

And mostly, to the ladies who took this time for yourselves - thank you. Sharing your journeys is a powerful reminder as to why this mission matters so deeply.

“Big Sky Bravery meant more to me than I could have ever expected.

It gave me space to breathe, to let go, and to find a peace I hadn’t felt in a long time. Through it, I formed relationships that will stay with me for life—connections built on trust, honesty, and shared purpose. I found myself laughing in ways I hadn’t in years—unfiltered, real joy.

Big Sky Bravery brought me back to myself.

It reminded me that happiness isn’t lost, just waiting to be rediscovered in the right company, under big skies, and in quiet moments that speak louder than words.

Thanks,

“Coming on this trip I did not know what to expect, but now I can say that this trip was more than I could ever imagine. The task force gave me a week of peace, self-reflection, connection and a feeling of belonging that I have not felt in a long time.

I left Montana with a happy heart and my mind full of great memories that will stay with me forever.

In all these years as a military spouse, I have never felt more seen and appreciated.

I can’t thank Big Sky Bravery, the donors, and especially the volunteers enough. I am incredibly grateful that the team took such good care of us and didn’t let us lift a finger while we were out there. Also, I want to thank all the wonderful women on this trip for opening their hearts. You made this trip memorable and really made it feel like sisterhood. Lastly, I want to thank BSB for reminding me that I am my own person.

With gratitude,

“My experience through Big Sky Bravery was one I will never forget. Before I came to Montana, I had no idea how much I needed a reprieve from not only the pressures of parenting (which is all too often done solo) but also the pressures that naturally accompany the SOF lifestyle. Being part of a task force gave me lasting memories, plus a much-needed relief and breath of fresh air. I enjoyed every activity and the chance to connect with the other recipients AND volunteers the entire trip.

I left Montana with a renewed sense of purpose, clarity, and energy to face the next phase of… whatever that might be.

I am forever grateful to the work BSB is doing in the SOF community. I’m not sure I have the right words to adequately describe the fullness of gratitude that I have for BSB and what they are doing, but finding those of us who live in the shadows of this lifestyle to have a place where we are seen, heard, and valued at BSB.”

“The email from BSB, notifying me of my nomination to attend a TF, was a mix of excitement and nerves. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect.  After 16 years as a SOF spouse, this was my first time stepping away from my family and daily responsibilities to spend some time on myself. At the TF, I had the amazing opportunity to meet incredible women and be ‘spoiled’ by the most wonderful volunteers who took care of our every need.

The trip was filled with laughter, joy, compassion, and fun activities. The volunteers went above and beyond to make sure we were able to enjoy ourselves and the beauty of Montana.

To BSB and every single donor, volunteer, and sponsor:

THANK YOU for believing in this mission.

Being a spouse meant facing difficult times and having to push through them. I managed the emotional and physical burdens of the family so my husband could focus on his mission.

This week was more than just a break; it was about being seen and appreciated for those contributions.

It was a chance to disconnect from everything and fully immerse myself in the great opportunity that BSB provided. This gift is something I will be forever grateful for; it's truly the experience of a lifetime.

Thank you again,

-TF155 Recipient”

“I first want to say Big Sky Bravery is an amazing organization that gives soldiers, their spouses, and children an opportunity to unwind, take time to yourself, reflect on your life and do some amazing things. I’m so grateful I got to go on my task force and meet some amazing other women and bond with them while doing fly fishing, side by side car rides, horseback riding, and zip lining to say the least and there where so many other things that were given to us to try and let ourselves relax and put ourselves first since we were military spouses in this task force. Again the trip meant a lot to me since I have not gone on a trip like that since 2019 and also met other women who understood what I have gone thrugh and made some great friendships. Our team leader and volunteers that week were some awesome and caring women. Again thank you Big Sky Bravery for that amazing trip and can’t wait to come back with my family.”
